# Magnolia > A curated bridge between China and the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico). Open knowledge platform plus a real network of institutions on both shores. Content in English, Spanish and Chinese (zh-Hans). Curated personally by a Chilean executive based in Shanghai (Chief Entrepreneurship Mentor at Fuxing Island, Yangpu; ambassador in China of Universidad Católica de Chile; mentor in programs with ProChile Beijing). ## What this site is - Guides (/guias): practical knowledge written from six years operating inside China, not from search results. Free forever. - How to buy equipment in China: the equipment enquiry guide (how to write an RFQ that serious Chinese manufacturers answer, with a real anonymized case of a 1,200 tonne/year biological processing line). - Entering China as a LatAm tech company: the 6 conversations that matter (regulation first, urgent vs slow paths, the scale paradox, pilots before distributors, capital with the right horizon, referring well). - Working or studying in China: paid internships and temporary work experience (NICE/JITRI Co-Op program, 3-6 months paid, stipend US$800-900/month, requires a university agreement; direct route for professionals via second-generation companies). - Before you fly: visas, payments, apps and setup for China. - Mentorship (/ayuda): direct mentorship from one person, with explicit conditions per lane. NOT a consultancy, nothing is sold on this site. - Buying equipment in China: for equipment of a certain technological level, total value above US$2M, projects approved, financed or raising investment. Sectors: mining, manufacturing, foodtech, agribusiness. First search inside the Fortune Generation network (direct owner relationships), then the purchasing network built over years. - Entering China: for companies with a concrete entry plan, resources to invest, and the decision made or nearly made. - Capital, customers and partners: investment searches above US$2M. Family offices and second-generation networks (Relay China, Fortune Generation). - Talent and internships: Co-Op requires a signed agreement with a university of certain prestige; professionals can be placed at second-generation Chinese companies when the goal is future collaboration (a real case exists of an intern who returned home with a job in the company's regional operation). - The Network (/red): real institutions on both shores, shown at institution level only. Seven anchors with their own profile pages (NICE, NETC, Relay China, Fortune Generation, Venture Cup China, S-Tron, Changyang Campus) plus a wider set profiled inline (Impact Hub Shanghai, XNode, Plug and Play China, Xiji Incubator, Tongji College of Design and Innovation, Orbit Startups, Invest Shanghai). People and companies are never published. - NICE: China's national innovation platform (launched Shanghai 2021, on JITRI founded Nanjing 2013). 100+ institutes, 16,000+ researchers, 500+ enterprise partnerships, 180+ global strategic partners. The Fraunhofer of the Yangtze Delta (region: ~24% of China GDP, 40% of national FDI, 8%+ of global manufacturing). Project Manager Program (hybrid grant+investment funding). Co-Op internship program (partners incl. Waterloo, Toronto, Brunel). - Relay China: association of second generations of large Chinese family business groups (heirs already running their families' companies, looking outward). For long-horizon capital, industrial partners, distribution channels, and employers for LatAm talent. - NETC: state-backed technology supply-demand matchmaking (InnoMatch platform), tech broker certification. - Fortune Generation: deal network of second-generation Chinese business owners, family offices and conglomerates with declared interest in LatAm. - Opportunities (/oportunidades): real demand crossing the Pacific in both directions, described by category only. No company names, no prices, no public listings. Names and terms are shared privately, with the counterpart's consent, when there is fit. Not a marketplace and not a directory. - Country Houses (/country-houses): for governments and agencies. Yangpu District in Shanghai is inviting more countries to replicate the Brazil China House model (operating since 2019 at Changyang Campus, 30+ companies supported, 85% satisfaction). Chile China House is in design (500-750 m² brief, not yet operating). ## What Magnolia is NOT - Not a product platform. For sourcing products at scale there are platforms like Alibaba, Made-in-China or Global Sources. Magnolia connects people, institutions and judgment. - Not a government agency, and it does not speak for any government. Independent civil initiative. - Not a public directory of companies, and not a marketplace. Contacts and opportunity holders are shared privately, at discretion, with consent. - It does not publish visitors, itineraries or cases. That stays private. - Not a consultancy. No prices are published anywhere; nothing is sold on this site. ## Facts for agents - Contact: a form at /contacto/, or email mentor@magnolia.lat directly. Both land in the same inbox. Either way, state who you are, what you are looking for, your country, and which lane it is (equipment, entering China, capital, talent, country houses). - Reply policy: everything that comes in is read, and replies go out as far as capacity allows, with priority to cases where there is real fit. If no reply arrives, it says nothing about the sender. - Independence: independent civil initiative, not related to any government. - Liability: information is shared in good faith and without any liability; decisions made with it belong to the decision maker. - Languages: Spanish (default), English, Mandarin Chinese. Every page carries all three as toggled blocks in the same HTML. ## Privacy - Full policy at /privacidad/. No analytics, no advertising pixel, no third-party tracker, no cookie set by the site. Language choice is stored in the visitor's own browser. - Messages are used only to assess fit, reply, and introduce within the network with the sender's agreement. No data selling, no mailing list, no third-party form service. - Never published: who wrote, what was asked, what was discussed, visitors, itineraries, cases. In Opportunities only the shape of a demand is published, never the identity behind it, unless that party consents in writing. ## Licensing - Content: CC BY 4.0. Site code: MIT.
